Where Luxury Blooms in the Heart of Florence, Kentucky
Hi, I'm Ivette — and Flair is my love letter to this community.
I was born in Panama to a Chinese-Panamanian-Jamaican mother and an American father - so blending cultures into something beautiful isn't just a design philosophy for me, it's where I come from. My path here wasn't a straight line: I started as a floral designer, moved into retail management, and eventually combined both worlds into a corporate role as a floral merchandising director for a big box retailer. Almost thirty years later, I left the corporate world behind, brought that mix of influences and my European-inspired eye for elegance with me, and opened a little studio in Florence, Kentucky, built around one idea: flowers should feel like an experience, not just a purchase.
That's Flair. Not a trend. An intention.
Why We Do This
I still remember the first time I tied a bouquet in Korean wrapping paper and watched a client's face light up like she'd been handed a piece of art. That's the moment I'm chasing with every arrangement that leaves our studio. Whether you're sending flowers across town or walking in to pick out something for yourself, I want you to feel that same flutter - like someone thought about you, specifically, when they built it.
Every stem we choose, every ribbon we tie, every box we design is done with that person in mind. Joyful news, quiet grief, an anniversary, a Tuesday that just needs a little more beauty in it - we design for the moment you're actually in.
The Signature Box: How Flair Started Turning Heads
When I opened Flair, I brought something Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky hadn't really seen yet: flowers arranged inside a couture-style hatbox instead of a glass vase. It's a small shift that changes everything about how a gift feels the moment it's received.
Our Signature Box Arrangements have become the thing people ask for by name - for birthdays, anniversaries, client gifts, and "just because" moments that deserve a little drama. They photograph beautifully, they travel well, and honestly, they never stop being fun to design.
More Than a Florist - A Whole Gifting Experience
I've always believed the unwrapping should feel as good as the flowers themselves. That's why every order leaves our hands finished - designed with care, tied with our signature bow, and sent off with a care card so your blooms last as long as possible.
Step into our Florence studio and you'll find we've built out a full boutique around that same instinct: curated home décor, candles, jewelry, and gifts that feel personal rather than generic. If you're not sure what to send, come talk to us - helping people find the right thing is one of my favorite parts of this job.
Weddings, Events, and the Everyday In Between
Some of the most meaningful work we do happens behind the scenes of someone's wedding day - building a vision from a Pinterest board and a color swatch into something that walks down the aisle with them. We also bring Flair out into the world through our Flower Bar Experience rentals and corporate activations, turning brand launches and client events into something people actually want to linger at.
And on the days that aren't a wedding or a big event? We're just as invested in getting a hand-tied bouquet to your doorstep because you wanted to make someone's Wednesday better.
Rooted in Community
Flair is a woman-owned business, born out of my own cross-cultural roots, and I don't take that lightly. Building this studio from the ground up - through the early mornings, the wedding-week chaos, the seasons where everything hinges on getting Mother's Day right - has taught me a lot about resilience. It's also made me fiercely committed to lifting up the people around me, whether that's hosting a workshop, partnering with other local makers, or just being a shop that shows up for its neighborhood.
